A vist to Midsomer Norton station
On November 2nd I visited Midsomer Norton station.
0-4-0 Sentinel steam loco sat in the yard at Midsomer Norton station
The volunteers there are working to get the Slow & Delightful (Somerset & Dorset) railway up and running again!
I saw on site alot of new rolling stock including a very smartly restored mk1 open coach, I presume it is there ready to start Regular passenger trains sometime in the forseeable future!
Outside the Shed/workshop there was visual evidence of the ever progressing restoration of the lines 0-4-0 Sentiel steam locomotive.
The wagon outside the new Museum is now compleated aswell as the Museum itself!
I have found out that the Museum is now open on Sundays aswell as the gift shop, so if you want to have a look around there that would be the day to go. The shop is open on Mondays too!

I was searching for info on Sentinal Railcars and I came across a list of locos, including the Croydon Gasworks’ one, which I believe you have.
I remember seeing it for the first time at Waddon Marsh in about1953. I had never seen or heard of such a machine and for years it was a mystery to me! How did it work? etc. I still find them and the railcars fascinating.
I assume you have it because the genuine S&D ones are long gone.
I’m glad you have JOYCE safe and hope I will see her again one day …!
Best wishes.
