Conwy Valley Railway Museum
Conwy Valley Railway Museum
The CVRM in located in Betws-Y-Coed, right opposite the mainline railway station.
It has a lot to offer, a 15 inch gauge Tram line running parallel to the mainline, and a 7 ¼ inch gauge steam line.
The Tramway runs for half a mile along side the Standard gauge Mainline.
The miniature railway takes you for an 8 minute ride through the landscaped grounds of the museum, and runs for a mile.
The Miniature Railway station is located right outside the Museum Building.
There are lots of things to see in the Museum, including a 10 ¼ inch gauge ‘Britannia’ class steam locomotive, model railways etc.
There is also some Standard Gauge stock around. One coach houses the restaurant, another houses a Scenic Model Railway.
Back on the miniature Railway. When you pass Lost ’N’ Bodge loco works, lookout for the unique USA Gallows Turntable.
Other attractions on site include: Drive your own train (10yrs and under) and Dodgems out side the main building.
Of course there is also a model shop, for the Railway Modellers to have a browse around.
