MSS Live steam locomotive running in

My new MSS Live steam loco running-in

Ok, when I said Garden Railway it’s more like Garden Rail-less! It is in it’s very early stages! At the moment, I have but one steam engine, no track and no rolling stock! :-(

I do intend to get some of course! The main problem I have with the line besides not being able to buy most of the stuff I need at the moment, is my parents are being a bit like the angry land owner, I don’t want your railway! Annoying…!

Still, time will tell as to whether I get my permanent railway or not.

Just to fill you in on the technical details, the railway is 16mm scale (That’s 16mm for every foot on the real thing!) running on 32mm gauge track (That’s the width of the track!).

It’s the more popular garden railway gauge, being slightly smaller so easier to fit in tighter spaces than the larger 45mm gauge.

My steam Locomotive is a standard MSS (Model Steam specialists) 0-4-0 side Tank loco, the same design as the original Mamod RS1.

It was bought in kit form and took the best part of 4 days to build, they’re fairly simple to construct.

I’ll eventually add more pages about the line including progress etc…
