Here is a list of present and possible future engines to reside on the West Wiltshire Light Railway.

Model Steam Specialists No.193 Mr.J
Boiler: Standard MSS
Working pressure: 20psi
Wheel arrangement: 0-4-0
Type: Side Tank
Cylinders: Standard MSS
Fuel: Menthylated spirit
Livery: Standard Green
Number: 193
Works Number: 1
Name: Mr.J
My first loco. Bought in kit form, it took me about 4 days to build.
I decided to name it Mr.J as at so many railways the Gartell and Peco to name a few have locos named this way after their owner.
Although recently built, I’m going to be part dismantling her again, to fit some upgrades. She may yet change colour as well, from the MSS Green to BR Brunswick.
Current Status: Operational

Sentinel Project
Tech specs:
Boiler: Vertical, scratch built
Working Pressure: 25psi
Wheel Arrangement: 0-4-0
Type: VBT
Cylinders: MSS oscillating Gas-Flow (Drive via Chain!)
Fuel: Meths
Livery: BR Un-lined black
Number: 47192
Works Number: 2
Name: Dibnah
Far from a fully fledged loco at this point! It’s still very much on the drawing board, but I have managed to draw up some very simple plans. It will be styled on the old Radstock Sentinels.
Hopefully to be built from scratch, it will be a simple system similar to the MSS locos. (I don’t, or rather can’t do complicated!) Powered by two double acting Gas-Flow oscillating cylinders transferred to the wheels by chain and sprocket.
Current status: On the drawing board

IP Rapier
Tech specs:
Motor: Standard IP electric motor
Wheel arrangement: 0-4-0
Type: Diesel style
Power: 2x AA batteries
Livery: WD Green
Number: 16
Works Number: 3
Name: Nadder
Again, a loco I plan to purchase in the near future. As with all railways, I’m going to need a back up loco, or for just when I can’t be bothered to raise steam! An IP Rapier was not my fist choice, as they’re pretty ugly engines, but with a bit of cosmetic work, it should look a bit more like a Ruston by the time I’ve finished. Reason for the name? I’ve gone with the plan of naming the rest of the locos after Rivers in Wiltshire, the Nadder flows through Salisbury.

English Electric style loco
Tech specs:
Motor: 2x Standard IP electric motor
Wheel arrangement: 0-6-0
Type: Diesel style
Power: 4x AA Battries
Livery: BR lined Blue
Number: D1110
Works Number: 4
Name: Avon
Another scratch built project, this will be the last engine I build out of this list. Hopefully based on the 0-6-0 English Electric diesel loco. Named after the River Avon.
