Paddle Steamer Ryde
The Paddle Steamer Ryde, has been beached in the Isle of Wight since she was withdrawn from service.
She was commissioned by the Southern Railway in 1936, and launched in 1937.
She operated between Portsmouth and Ryde Pier.
The Ryde Paddle Steamer trust is now trying to save her, before she completely corrodes from the sea air.
Most of her hull is now pitted with holes, from where the the salty water has corroded it. The funnel has collapsed and the Paddles have taken some pretty severe damage.
