"Black Prince' sat at Cranmore station
BR class 9F No.92203 ‘Black Prince’ was built at Swindon works on August 20th 1959, she lasted only eight years before being withdrawn from Birkenhead depot on June 6th 1967.
She also worked the last Iron Ore train from Bidston Docks to Shotton Steel Works.
She was bought by Wildlife artist David Shepherd for £3,000.
Now based on the Gloucester & Warwickshire Railway, it regularly hauls trains there.
She did however visit her original preservation line in 2008 for the East Somerset Railways Quarry weekend.
She then spent a brief spell at the ESR before returning to the GWR.

Hi James. Just found your site through a mention on the ProBlogger community forum. I thought I’d stop by and say hello and also drop mention of an old train we have here in my town called the Pere Marquette #1223. You can read more about this old train and see some photos of her here: http://www.hmdb.org/Marker.asp?Marker=4785
Thankyou for the link, i’ve had a look, it’s very interesting!
Thanks again.
