No.3 'Tinkerbell' at Lakeside Station

On the 14th of November 2009 on a very cold and blustery day, myself and ‘Tinkerbells’ owner arrived at the Coate Water Miniature Railway, situated in Coate Water Park.

Her owner was asked to bring her along to test the CWMRs track to see if could take a large locomotive for the annual 7 1/4 inch AGM.

After getting ‘Tinkerbell’ off her trailer and raised steam, she was tested around the outside circuit, there were a few clearance issues.

She was then tested on the inner circuit, no problems there!

Ok, we had a bit of fun here, we tested to see how much ‘Tinkerbell’ would haul, we ended up hauling twelve scale coaches around the inner circuit, there was some… ok alot of wheel slip on the 1 in 58 incline, but she still made it!

Well, after all the excitment it was a brilliant day!

This is a great little miniature railway and I would recommend anyone visiting the Swindon area go and take a look.
