On July 17th & 18th, the Yeovil Railway Centre held it’s 150th Anniversary event.

It was a big event, with lots of engines and different things going on!

On Sunday a mainline Railtour came in the same day.

Visiting locos included GWR King Class 4-6-0 No.6024 King Edward I, and King Arthur Class 4-6-0 No.30777 Sir Lamiel.

Also operating were the YRCs own locos Peckett 0-4-0ST No.1579 Pectin & Class 50 No.50050 Fearless.

Trains were Top ‘n’ Tailed by the King and Pectin, with the Kings Support Coach and a Brake Van. It looked peculiar, two opposite ends of the scale!

No.50050 Fearless was on show and was started periodically through the day, sadly not able to haul trains yet, she is still being slowly restored to full working order, all the electrical area has been done, they are now working on the Body work.

Below are some pictures of trains at the event: ((c) Pictures by David Seward)
